posted by Mr_Hardwick at Thursday, May 12, 2011 || under Class Activities

And still it grows..!

The perfect April followed by the rain of the last few days has given us a very green and lush Forest School..which is great if you don't suffer from Hayfever.

We have enjoyed stream work, planting, weed clearing, play and story making, plant identification and building just to mention a few.

Today we had a visitor join a year two group this afternoon..he stayed for a while and listened to us talk..

this little Red Admiral stopped a while before fluttering off to rest on a nearby nettle.

Our First Holiday Club

It was a perfect day for our first Holiday at Feckenham School

We had a tent challenge, cooked on the fire, made willow hurdles, climbed trees, built dams and made a rope swing.

Perfect..and thanks to all the children whose behaviour was wonderful and we all hod so much fun.

Ragley Hall

This was the last of our current visits to Ragley Hall and once again we were blessed with warm weather. Year R made bird feeders, climbed trees and cooked toast and marshmallows.

Year 1 followed a trail through the grounds and hunted for the statues/sculptures. We even found trees to climb, sculptures to play music on and cooked popcorn over the campfire.

Year 1 in the trees..!

Two weeks - so much to tell..

The last two weeks have been filled with finding bones, flying kites, falling in streams, being a bat/moth, cooking, darkness, building plus so much more.

Check out the last  two weeks in photos...

Year 1's Compass work at Ragley -
Which way was the Hall?

Setting up camp in the woods

All set for our journey

Just after this photo was taken a Hare shot out from right next to us...fantastic.

Year 3 exploring the stream

Dambuilding

Swinging in the climbing tree

Just like Robin Hood, Year 3 take to the trees..!

Hold on ...

Perfect wind for flying our home made kites

Trying to keep both feet on the ground

Year 2's night walk was a huge success. Jacket Spuds,  Beans and lots of dark exploring.

Year R - Building a woodland door, the wind played its part. But he decided the doorway leads to a sunny warm holiday. Sounds perfect.

Year 4 working on their 'Special' project

Congratulations to all those winning Acorn and Leaf awards this week

Well done from Mr Hardwick
